Kulong Mountain is located southeast of Xinglong Village, Wangbaoyingzi Township, Jianchang County. On the mountaintop east of the village lies a huge crescent-shaped hollow. On sunny days, the sun rises slowly to the east of Kulong Mountain, and brilliant sunlight streams through the hollow, creating an extraordinarily spectacular sight.

Climb to the summit of Kulong Mountain, and you can gaze out at rolling mountain ranges shrouded in mist and haze, bathed in gorgeous, enchanting rosy glow. Two waterfalls cascade down the mountainside, forming two pools of clear rippling water — this gives the mountain its full name, Kulong Mountain with Two Springs Reflecting the Moon. When spring arrives and flowers bloom, apricot blossoms blanket the slopes, as white as snow, filling every valley with delicate fragrance.

At the foot of the outer mountain of the Two Dragon Ponds, follow the narrow winding mountain trail uphill to the east, and you can witness the marvelous wonder of Kulong Mountain in person. You cannot help but marvel at the extraordinary craftsmanship of nature. Formed through crustal movements, the volcanic rock layers run seamlessly from the foot to the top of the mountain, yet an enormous cave suddenly cuts horizontally through the rock near the summit.

Walk through the cave and look north, and you will see a mountain whose peak resembles the helmet worn by ancient mountain bandit chieftains — hence its name King Mountain. King Mountain boasts a unique natural phenomenon: local villagers at its foot know that a low wailing sound drifting down from the mountain foretells rain within three days, an uncannily reliable omen.

Follow the mountain path southeast from the eastern opening of Kulong Mountain, and you will find an ancient well filled with exceptionally clear water. Looking south, a gap cuts across the summit of South Mountain, known as the Southern Heavenly Gate; a similar gap on North Mountain’s peak is called the Northern Heavenly Gate.

Steep precipices and jagged bizarre rocks line the eastern mountain crest, among which Man Stone Mountain stands out most strikingly. A cave sits at its foot with a spring flowing inside. The first ray of morning sunlight shines straight into the cave entrance at sunrise, earning it the name Morning Sun Cave.
