Natural Landscapes of Suizhong County

Suizhong County boasts abundant tourism resources, among which coastal scenery and the Great Wall were the earliest developed tourist attractions.

Stretching 105 kilometers, its primitive coastline features fine sand, flat beaches, clear water and gentle waves. The Dongdaihe coastal section has been praised by national marine authorities and geography experts as "the most ideal natural seaside bathing beach in the Bohai Bay".

The Ming Great Wall winds for 132 kilometers across the county. Within this stretch lies Jiumenkou Water Great Wall, the first World Cultural Heritage site inscribed in Northeast China. Another 46 kilometers of well-preserved Ming Great Wall sections belonging to the Jizhen and Liaodong Garrisons are famed as "the most beautiful section of the Ming Great Wall" for their precipitous grandeur and exquisite carved decorations. Together with the ruins of the Qin and Han Jieshi Palace, where Emperor Cao once stood "facing the Jieshi Cliff to gaze upon the vast sea", Qiansu Ancient City, Zhuizi Mountain Great Wall and other relics, Suizhong is home to more than 100 cultural heritage sites.

Suizhong also possesses rich mountain and river resources. Mountainous terrain accounts for approximately 41 percent of the county’s total land area, with 72 large and small mountains covered in lush forests and diverse wildlife. Five rivers run through the territory, alongside two large reservoirs surrounded by green mountains with surging waters and two hot spring resorts. These solid resources lay a sound foundation for developing rural tourism and agritainment.
