Duangang Longshan Culture Site

The site is situated on a sand dune north of Duangang Village and on the south bank of Huangganggou, six kilometres southwest of the county seat.

Archaeologists unearthed ancient stone axes, stone chisels and bone daggers. Also found were shards of grey and reddish-brown clay and sandy pottery, including urns, pots, jars and plates decorated with cord patterns, striations and applied relief bands. Other finds included incomplete pottery sacrificial vessels, short nipple-shaped legs of li tripods, deer antlers and animal bones. These relics belong to the Longshan Culture.

It was listed as a county-level protected cultural relic in 1984. A second excavation was carried out in 1989, yielding a large quantity of pottery dating to the Longshan period, the Erlitou period, and the Shang and Zhou dynasties.
