Shenzhou Main Landing Site
Siziwang Banner serves as the primary landing site for the Shenzhou series spacecraft. From the maiden flight of Shenzhou-1 on November 20, 1999 to the successful recovery mission of the manned spacecraft Shenzhou-10 on June 26, 2013, all recovery operations were completed flawlessly. Astronauts including Yang Liwei, Fei Junlong, Nie Haisheng, Zhai Zhigang, Liu Boming, Jing Haipeng, Liu Wang, Zhang Xiaoguang, Liu Yang and Wang Yaping have all returned safely to this magical grassland of Siziwang Banner, marking a major breakthrough in China’s century-long Chinese Dream for its Manned Space Engineering Program.
To facilitate the landing and recovery operations of Shenzhou spacecraft, Siziwang Banner constructed the Shenzhou Road connecting Wulanhua Town (the seat of the banner government) and Hongger Sum. Leveraging the brand influence of the Shenzhou recovery site, the local government erected a monument commemorating the Shenzhou landing grounds, and strived to build a Shenzhou-themed park and the Shenzhou Homeland Residential Quarter. Signs and trademarks bearing the "Shenzhou" name can be found everywhere across the banner, including Shenzhou Hotel, Shenzhou Square and Shenzhou Liquor, fostering a profound cultural atmosphere and powerful brand momentum centered on the Shenzhou space mission.
