One-Day Tour to Haisenchulu Strange Stone Forest
Route Features
Haisenchulu means "stones shaped like pots" in Mongolian. Located in the northwest of Nurugai Sumu, Right Alxa Banner, Haisenchulu Strange Stone Forest is 180 kilometers away from the banner seat.
Spanning over forty square kilometers, this area is covered with wind-eroded stones of all sizes — from huge boulders dozens of cubic meters in volume down to fist-sized rocks. Weird rock formations stand densely in diverse shapes: some resemble giant eagles spreading wings to soar into the sky, while others look like massive mushroom clouds. The vivid, lifelike stone shapes rival the Stone Forest in Yunnan and the strange rock outcrops of Huangshan Mountain, showcasing the boundless, divinely crafted charm of nature.
Its most famous scenic formations include the "Mushroom Cloud", "Reclining Camel", "Pigsy", "The Shout" and "Turtle Heading to Sea", boasting high natural artistic appreciation value. Many Chinese and foreign photographers have captured these rocks in widely circulated photos.
