Meet the tour group in Wuhai, then take a coach to Western Dream Canyon in Aolunbulage. Sightsee the Colourful Divine Mountain, Camel Peak and Phallus Peak, and pay visits to Baihongta Temple and Bule Temple. Feast your eyes on the spectacular Danxia landform geological marvels unique to Alxa. Overnight: Aolunbulage Town

Travel by coach via Nuoergong, Menggen and Yabrai to the fringe of Badain Jaran Desert. Transfer to dedicated desert adventure jeeps and head for Badain Lake, the starting point of Badain Jaran Desert expeditions. Overnight: Badain Lake

Board special desert vehicles to visit Temple Lake and Badain Jaran Temple, then climb Bilutu Peak — the world’s tallest sand mountain — and taste water from the Divine Spring. Arrive at Nuoertu Lake, the largest lake in Badain Jaran Desert, by evening. Overnight: Nuoertu Lake

After breakfast at Nuoertu Lake, depart for Mandela Mountain Rock Paintings, hailed as the ancient art gallery of Northwest China. Admire over 4,300 vivid rock murals depicting the lives and spiritual worlds of ancient nomadic tribes. Afterwards proceed to Bayanhot, capital of Alxa League, and tour Yanfu Temple. Take a coach to Guangzong Temple (South Temple, 4A-level scenic spot) in the Helan Mountains after breakfast. Pay homage to the Spirit Pagoda of the 6th Dalai Lama, the Yellow Temple, Red Temple and Thousand-Buddha Hall, and stroll through the primeval Helan Mountain forest. Enjoy lunch in Mongolian yurts at the Oirat Nomadic Camp. In the afternoon, travel to Tengger Dalai Moon Lake Desert Adventure Camp (4A-level). Experience 15 kilometres of thrilling sand surfing aboard dedicated desert vehicles. Optional self-paid activities include horse riding, camel riding, go-karting and sand sliding. A roast whole lamb or lamb back feast can be arranged for dinner, followed by a grand bonfire party. Overnight: Moon Lake

After breakfast, take a coach to Foyin Temple (North Temple, 3A-level) in the Helan Mountains. In the afternoon, wander Rare Stone Street before heading to Wurste Grassland Cultural Tourism Zone (3A-level) to watch horse racing and camel racing, and visit the golden-top grand yurt. Overnight: Bayanhot

Take a coach back to Yinchuan (Wuhai) for group dismissal.
