Pangquangou Guolaofeng Water Park

Pangquangou Guolaofeng Water Park is located in Zhongzhuang Village, Huili Township, Jiaocheng County. It sits within the Guolaofeng Scenic Area on the upper and middle reaches of the Wenyu River deep in Guandi Mountain, adjacent to the national-level Pangquangou Nature Reserve. It ranks as the largest water park in North China, home to the biggest Giant Trumpet ride nationwide and the world’s largest man-made tsunami wave pool among water parks.

Shanxi Pangquangou Guolaofeng Water Park is situated in Zhongzhuang Village, Huili Township, Jiaocheng County, in the Guolaofeng Scenic Area along the upper Wenyu River inside Guandi Mountain, next to Pangquangou National Nature Reserve. It is a large-scale water park boasting the most complete, brand-new and thrilling recreational facilities. As the largest and highest-grade water park in North China, it is also the first top-tier water park in Shanxi Province with advanced equipment and a full range of amusement items.

As a major tourist highlight of Jiaocheng County this year, the water park features primarily aquatic entertainment. Integrating catering, accommodation, transportation, sightseeing, shopping and recreation, it operates all year round with the themes of fitness, leisure and fun. Combining indoor and outdoor activities, the park offers a great variety of attractions loved by young visitors: thrilling drifting rivers, high-speed slides, wakeboarding, tsunami wave pool, the super Giant Trumpet, Behemoth Bowl, racing slides, Tornado Spin, spiral slide complex, variable-gradient high-speed slides, Super Bubble Bowl, children’s combined slides, giant water fortress, python slide, hydrotherapy spa and water performances. These unique facilities are rarely seen elsewhere in North China, bringing visitors an unprecedented and stunning sensory experience. It is suitable for guests of all ages and serves as a top summer playground for children.

It generates waves over 1.5 metres high that last for 15 minutes with 12 different wave patterns. Visitors can experience freshwater surfing and enjoy the excitement of riding the rolling waves. The Tsunami Pool on the left adopts vacuum wave-making technology, creating huge surges of 2 to 3 metres just like a real tsunami. Brave adventurers can battle the raging waves to push their limits and unlock their potential. Couples can stroll barefoot on the sandy shore. Sitting or standing in the cool running water, you can wash away all weariness and worries while enjoying the ultimate fun of surfing.

The attraction is equipped with two powerful super water cannons. Note: only good swimmers are allowed to take part. Sit on the special seat and press the button. You will soar into the air like a jumping carp, enjoying breathtaking thrills without real danger.

Six independent colourful slides form a rainbow span. Lying on sliding mats, tourists race down from the 20-metre-high tower along the 110-metre undulating track, experiencing ups and downs of high-speed gliding and enjoying the joy of racing across the rainbow in pursuit of dreams. Next to the six-lane racing slide is the twin variable-gradient high-speed slide. Riders drop almost in free fall from a height of 14 metres. Screaming all the way down, you will feel the heart-stopping weightlessness of a steep plunge. This project calls for extraordinary courage.

Four winding spiral slides, both open and enclosed, form a complex. Visitors ride rafts down from the 13-metre platform, twisting and turning rapidly through the zigzag tunnels. Navigating the waves is just like the ancient poem describes: diving down three thousand feet amid endless thrills and joy.

A paradise for extreme sports lovers. Groups of four or six riders board special floating tubes and dash down from the 19-metre platform through an over 80-metre spiral chute. Like a spaceship diving through space, riders rush down the track, then climb steeply up the nearly vertical ramp driven by strong inertia until they reach the peak. After feeling the exhilaration of soaring high, they plunge again and slide smoothly into the pool. Brave players can fully enjoy the fun of challenging their limits.

This is the largest water trumpet ride in China and a winner of the International Tourism Golden Ticket Award. It is an unmissable attraction full of novelty and excitement. The facility consists of an 18.5-metre-wide trumpet cone, an enclosed slide and a splash pool. Four tourists ride a raft speeding down from the 16-metre platform into the giant trumpet. After swinging violently left and right repeatedly, the raft is finally drawn into the safety pool just like being caught in a tornado. The fantastic experience feels like travelling through a time tunnel, bringing you an extraordinary journey and total physical and mental relaxation.
