Dongze Lake

The dragon is the symbol of China, and the Chinese nation are descendants of the dragon. The hometown of the dragon lies at Dongze Lake in Wenxi County. According to Zuo Zhuan, the 29th year of Duke Zhao’s reign, this was the place where Dong Fu raised dragons. In summer and autumn, the 800,000-square-metre white water wetland is lined with willows on both banks, and the fragrance of lotus blooms drifts across the ten-li-long lake. The hometown of dragons is immersed in the scent of seed pods and lotus blossoms. The local lotus roots are as white as jade, with numerous pores and little fibrous residue. They are crisp, tender, sweet and nutritious, ideal for daily consumption and nourishment.
