Zuixian Lake (Hongmen Reservoir) is a large reservoir in Jiangxi Province, located 16 kilometres east of Nancheng County. According to legend, immortals once got drunk here in ancient times, hence the name.
It boasts a water area of more than 70 square kilometres with a total storage capacity of 1.216 billion cubic metres and over one thousand islets of varying sizes, earning it the reputation of "Qiandao Lake of Eastern Jiangxi".
The reservoir area used to be the seat of Nancheng County in the Western Han Dynasty, endowed with profound cultural heritage. There are tens of thousands of mu of unique Danxia landforms.
Nearby attractions include the Red Army battlefield site dating back to 1933, the tomb cluster of the Princes Yi of the Ming Dynasty, and the mysterious sacred land of Hongmen. It has become a tourist resort integrating vacation, leisure, sightseeing and entertainment.
