Hundred-Mile Azalea Scenic Area is located in the central part of Bijie Pilot Zone in northwestern Guizhou Province. It covers an administrative area of more than 560 square kilometres, among which azalea forests stretch across 125.8 square kilometres.

It is a national forest park, a provincial-level scenic area and a nature reserve. It contains the largest and most diverse primeval azalea forests ever discovered in China. It enjoys numerous reputations, including Colour Ribbon of the Earth, Garden of the World, Blessed Land for Health, Paradise for Summer Retreat and Natural Grand Garden of the World.

It has been awarded many honours: China Excellent Tourist Attraction, China’s Top Eco-tourism Destination Recommended by Embassies in China, Top Ten Primitive Natural Scenic Spots in Greater Asia, Guizhou’s Top Ten Charming Scenic Areas, Guizhou’s Top Ten Influential Scenic Areas, and a National Low-Carbon Tourism Pilot Zone. It is officially a national 5A-level tourist attraction.

It is a paradise of blossoms and a wilderness for the soul, where visitors can enjoy stretches of blooming azaleas and escape the hustle and bustle of cities. It is also the hometown of azaleas and the ancient Yi territory, ideal for exploring the original ethnic culture of the Wumeng Mountains and discovering secluded scenic wonders.

The scenic area consists of two core zones: Pudi Scenic Area and Jinpo Scenic Area. Surrounding attractions include Shexiang Military Camp Mountain Park, Yishan Flower Valley, Hundred-Mile Azalea Lake, Midi River Scenic Area, King Azalea Scenic Area and Gamu Scenic Area.
