Ancient Mosque

It stands on the south side of West Street in the old town of Guanxian County. It is one of the earliest and largest mosques across the county.

The mosque was first built in the 3rd year of the Yongle reign of the Ming Dynasty (1405 AD), with a history of nearly 600 years. It took shape after several renovations over the centuries.

Covering an area of 14 mu, the complex includes a main prayer hall with 30 rooms and another 28 rooms for lecture halls, side halls and ablution houses.

The main hall is grand, simple and solemn with compact overall structure and exquisite layout. Couplets, horizontal inscribed boards, brick carvings and stone sculptures are dotted throughout the building, further highlighting the dignity, serenity, mystery and antiquity of this Islamic place of worship.
