By the west bank of the ancient Qi River (present-day Wu River in Huantai, Shandong), stands the Lugu Temple dating back to the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods. The temple enshrines Li E, a filial maiden of the State of Qi from today’s Tieshan area.
Beneath Yantai Hill on the eastern side of Sibao Mountain lies the Iron Ox Pit, an ancient iron smelting site where iron ore was mined as early as the Spring and Autumn Period. Historical records document mining activities here through successive dynasties. After the First Opium War, Germany and Japan both exploited iron ore deposits at this location. Following the founding of the People’s Republic of China, Jinling Iron Mine and Sibao Mountain Commune continued mining operations here. The place name Iron Ox Pit is recorded in the Xincheng County Annals and derives from an ancient folk legend.
The Lugu Garden in Huantai County ranks among the largest and best-preserved temple complexes remaining in Zibo. It is now designated a Key Cultural Relic Protection Unit of Zibo. Situated in Xizhen Village, Suo Town, the garden features four core scenic spots: the ancient Lugu Temple, the Supreme Filial Piety Hall, the Quqiu Hall, and the Chinese Family Surname Forest of Steles.

First built in the Spring and Autumn Period, the complex showcases architectural styles of the Ming and Qing dynasties.
