Lizhai Tourist Scenic Area

Lizhai Tourist Scenic Area is located in Lizhai Township in the southwestern part of Zezhou County, Shanxi Province, 26 kilometres away from the urban district.

Lizhai Township borders Yangcheng County to the west, and neighbours four townships: Nancun, Nanling, Zhoucun and Chuandi to the east, south and north respectively. The township governs 25 administrative villages and 67 natural villages with a population of more than 13,000, covering a land area of 81 square kilometres.

The unique natural landscape here has formed numerous jagged peaks and strange valleys. The Qin River, the second-longest river in Shanxi, winds through the whole territory like a jade ribbon. Green mountains, clear water, lush trees, blooming flowers, karst caves and ancient temples together compose a fascinating picturesque landscape. Endowed by nature and developed over years by local people under the leadership of the township Party committee and government, a distinctive tourist zone with considerable scale has taken shape.

The scenic area consists of three major parts: China’s First River Bend, Zhijiao Three Religions Temple and Qilong Jiunü Lake, including more than 40 scenic spots in total.
