Shanliquan Natural Scenic Area

Shanliquan Natural Scenic Area lies in the southern part of the Taihang Mountains, at the junction of Zezhou, Yangcheng and Jiyuan across Shanxi and Henan Provinces.

Crafted by nature’s extraordinary power, the land boasts rare and spectacular geological landforms seen nowhere else in the world. The surging Qin River winds and twists through mountains like a giant flood dragon dwelling deep in the hills.

The scenic area is 18 kilometres away from National Highway 207, 50 kilometres from downtown Jincheng and 51 kilometres from downtown Jiyuan. The Houyue Railway runs through the zone with a railway station right here, bringing highly convenient transportation.

Within the scenic area, you will find steep mountain peaks rising straight up, the endlessly flowing Qin River, clear mountain springs and brooks, as well as broad lakes shimmering with blue waves. It is also home to precious historical sites, charming cultural landscapes and folk legends, abundant wild fauna including groups of macaques, and the medium-sized Shuān lǘquán Hydropower Station with modern facilities.
