Nine-Dragon Lake sits at the entrance to Huayang Mountain Scenic Area, covering over one hundred mu of water surface. Back in 2001, to develop Huayang Mountain’s tourism resources and build an urban forest park with pristine natural ecology and an elegant environment for local residents, the Shunchang County People’s Government invested nearly 2 million yuan to construct a stone dam and form the lake. Shimmering and radiant, Nine-Dragon Lake has become a bright, crystal-clear highlight of the scenic zone.

On calm days, the lake’s surface lies smooth as a mirror, inlaid upon a carpet of lush greenery. Fed by the Nine-Dragon Mountain Range, the lake gathers mountain streams from Longshangyang, Thirty-Six Hollows and countless forest springs. The water winds past jagged rock cliffs of Huayang Mountain, forming a cascading series of three waterfalls before flowing into the lake.

Climb to the "Buddha Character" viewing platform atop Huayang Mountain’s main peak (roughly 900 meters above sea level) and gaze afar: Nine-Dragon Lake glints like a luminous pearl, while the surrounding mountain ridges resemble nine sinuous dragons dancing and frolicking around the orb — a magnificent natural scroll of "Nine Dragons Playing with a Pearl".

All around the lake stand lush green woods, dotted with waterside pavilions. Ancient trees twist with tangled vines, green foliage blushes with red leaves, and white clouds drift across blue skies, all mirrored perfectly in the lake’s still waters. Soft breezes stir glittering ripples, where green hills and clear waters reflect one another. Standing amid this scenery, visitors will fully immerse themselves in nature, utterly captivated as if wandering in a celestial paradise.

Huayang Mountain boasts dense woods, slippery moss, and serene tranquility; Nine-Dragon Lake shines clear and bright, peaceful and refined. Mountains gain grandeur from water, and water gains grace from mountains. Having weathered ancient vicissitudes, Huayang Mountain now stands like a graceful maiden with delicate features and simple, light makeup, warmly welcoming every visitor with its elegant charm.
