A National 4A-level Tourist Attraction, Huayang Mountain lies six kilometers north of Shunchang County Seat in Fujian Province, covering a scenic area of 1,200 hectares with its main peak standing at an altitude of 572 meters.
The mountain features five major categories of landscapes comprising more than 100 varieties: exotic jagged peaks and grotesque rocks, cascading waterfalls and flowing springs, rare ancient trees, climbing vines and twisting lianas. It enjoys the well-deserved reputation of "China’s Vine Garden".
Ancients hailed Huayang Mountain as a land of "immortal springs", permeated with ethereal divine aura. Long revered as the "Ancestor Mountain" of Shunchang, it has always been a sacred site for people to pay homage.
In recent years, the county’s tourism industry has flourished, and tourist facilities and infrastructure at Huayang Mountain have been continuously upgraded and perfected. At present, the scenic area boasts elegant, distinctive architecture including wooden villas, farm cottages and a She Ethnic Village, alongside parking lots. It also offers a wide range of featured activities: leisure fishing platforms, bonfire zones, barbecue areas, swimming pools, camellia oil picking bases, wild vegetable picking grounds and bamboo shoot picking sites. Additionally, there is a She Folk Custom Museum serving as a popular science education base. All these facilities make Huayang Mountain an ideal destination for eco-tours, health preservation and leisurely getaways.
