The Guangshan Temple Pagoda stands in the centre of Jinxiang County seat. First built in the 4th year of the Zhenguan reign of the Tang Dynasty (630 AD), it is also known as Wenfeng Pagoda.

Constructed with brick and stone, the pagoda rests on a stone plinth. It is an octagonal nine-storey pavilion-style building made of bricks, capped with an iron gourd-shaped spire, reaching a height of 49 metres. In May 1938, Japanese invading troops shelled the pagoda with artillery, destroying one and a half storeys, leaving only seven and a half storeys intact.

Double-layer brick bracket sets are laid between each storey, with an arched gate built on each of the four cardinal directions: east, west, south and north. A spiral staircase inside the north gate on the first floor leads all the way up to the top storey. Inside the south gate on the third floor is a stone carving bearing three stone Buddha statues.

Embedded on the four inner walls of the fifth storey are rectangular stone slabs with embossed Buddha reliefs. There is an inscription of 58 characters on each side, which are now illegible. Each slab measures 58 centimetres in height and 77 centimetres in width. The stone relief is divided into upper and lower tiers with six groups of figures in total. On the lower tier, a Buddha sits upright on a stone platform, flanked by two standing Buddhas. To either side of the central Buddha, three Buddhas kneel on a stone table, with a beast lying beneath each table. On the upper tier, there is a tile-roofed building on each side. Inside each building sits one Buddha with another standing in attendance. Thirteen figures in total are depicted on the whole stone carving, all with natural and lifelike expressions.

Another stone tablet is inlaid at the southeast corner of the first storey, recording how local gentry raised funds to renovate the brick pagoda during the Republic of China period.

The pagoda was designated a Municipal Key Cultural Relic Protection Unit in April 1985 and fully restored to its original appearance in 1999.
