According to historical records, in the late Southern Song Dynasty (1276 AD), the young emperors Zhao Bing and Zhao Zheng retreated to Jiazi Gate under the escort of Prime Minister Lu Xiufu. They stationed troops on Daidu Mountain to organize soldiers and civilians to resist the Yuan army.
Fan Liangchen, a local resident of Jiazi, took the initiative to bring food to comfort the troops. Zheng Fuweng and Zhang Wenlie led a group of people to serve the imperial court and fought bravely against the Yuan soldiers.
To commemorate this chapter of history, later generations built Jiaxiu Tower, Jinshi Pavilion and Fuweng Pavilion on Daidu Mountain, and erected statues of the emperors.
