Two-Day Sightseeing & Adventure Tour: Wanfo Lake, West Anhui Great Rift Valley & Dabie Mountain Grottoes

I. Route Planning

Day 1: Wanfo Lake (Shucheng) — Maotanchang Ming & Qing Ancient Street — Maotanchang High School — Tu’s Ancestral Hall — East Stone Shoot Scenic Area

Route A: Lake Views, Ancient Town & Green Hills

Wanfo Lake (Double Dragon Island, Fishing Island, Dream-Seeking Island, Customs Island, Phoenix Island, Swallow Island, Hidden Immortal Island) → Maotanchang Town → Tu’s Ancestral Hall → Ming & Qing Ancient Street → East Stone Shoot → Double Tiger Stockade → Nine Dragon Valley → Fishing Platform → Maotanchang Town

Route B: Hiking & Wellness Leisure

Wanfo Lake → Entrance of East Stone Shoot Scenic Area → Ten-Thousand-Mu Wild Tea Garden → Jade Zither Lake → Fishing Platform → Mituo Temple → East Stone Shoot → Thousand-Zhang Cliff → West Stone Shoot

Route C: Mountain Climbing & Forest Air Bath

Triple Cascade Waterfall → Ancient Plank Road → Pearl Waterfall → Jade Emperor Summit → Double Tiger Stockade → Jade Guanyin Rock → East Stone Shoot

Route D: Unique Rock Sightseeing & Waterfront Relaxation

East Stone Shoot → Jade Pond → Wild Tea Garden → Wetland → Herringbone Waterfall → East Stone Shoot

Day 2: Dahuashan Scenic Area — West Anhui Great Rift Valley Scenic Area — Dabie Mountain Grottoes Scenic Area

Yunfeng Temple → Zhu Yunshan Memorial Hall → Double Toad Temple

West Anhui Great Rift Valley Route: Rock Climbing & Nature Challenge

Scenic Area Entrance → Divine Frog Rock → First Gate → Second Gate → Third Gate → Heavenly Staircase → Upright Rock → Scenic Area Exit

Dabie Mountain Grottoes Scenic Area Routes

Route A: Sports & Leisure Route

Reception Center (Lijiawan) → Open Cliff → Hongshan Reservoir → Liao Cliff → Hongshan Stockade → Dragon Well Gully → Open Cliff → Reception Center (Lijiawan)

Route B: Mountain Stockade Scenery Route

Reception Center (Danjiawan) → Vanilla Lake → Vanilla Garden → Dream Cave → Bamboo Grove → Three Turn Cliff → Box Rock → Lover Rock → Toad Rock → Hongshan Stockade → Dragon Well Gully → Open Cliff → Reception Center (Lijiawan)

Route C: Mountain Stockade Culture Route

Reception Center (Danjiawan) → Vanilla Lake → Nine Dragon Hall → Virtue Heaven Gate → Three Combination Gate → Peace Gate → Hongshan Stockade → Dragon Well Gully → Open Cliff → Reception Center (Lijiawan)

The above routes are available for group tours as well as self-driving group trips.

Schedule

Day 1: Depart from Hefei at 07:00. Take a boat to tour all spots at Wanfo Lake from 08:30 to 10:30 (alternative: stay overnight at Wanfo Lake the previous day and sightsee from 07:30 to 10:30). Arrive at Maotanchang Town for lunch at 11:30. Visit Tu’s Ancestral Hall and Maotanchang High School (the largest rural high school nationwide) from 12:30 to 13:30. Roam the Ming & Qing Ancient Street and the Former Canteen Site, and buy local specialties from 13:50 to 15:30. Explore all attractions in East Stone Shoot Scenic Area from 15:50 to 17:30. Have dinner at a farm restaurant or local eatery in the scenic zone, and stay overnight at a scenic area hotel.
Day 2: Leave East Stone Shoot at 07:30. Tour Dahuashan Scenic Area from 08:10 to 09:10. Visit all spots in the Great Rift Valley Scenic Area from 09:30 to 11:30, purchase Jin’an local specialties and dine at surrounding farm restaurants. Arrive at Dabie Mountain Grottoes Scenic Area at 13:30, take the large circular grotto route and watch local characteristic folk performances. The two-day pleasant tour ends at 17:00, then take the coach back.
