Scenic Description

China-Vietnam People's Friendship Park lies in the southwest of Dongxing Town, Dongxing City, beside the Beilun River, the boundary river between China and Vietnam.
It was built in 1958 to commemorate the blood-forged friendship between the Chinese and Vietnamese people forged during the liberation struggles, hence its name. In 2000, the government attracted investment to renovate the park抖音百科.
The park covers a total area of 260 mu. Lush vegetation scatters along the low rolling mounds. Standing at the highest central point of the park is the Monument to Chinese and Vietnamese Revolutionary Martyrs. Inside the park stand two friendship trees grown from saplings presented by President Ho Chi Minh of Vietnam in 1960.
On the hill in the southern part of the park lies the tomb of six martyrs including Chen Handong, who sacrificed heroically in the War of Liberation.
Chen Handong, originally named Huang Mufen, joined the Communist Party of China in 1937. He was one of the leaders of the Naliang Anti-Japanese Armed Uprising in Fangcheng County in June 1945. He served as Party Representative and Chief of Staff of the Qinzhou-Fangcheng Overseas Chinese Anti-Japanese Guerrilla Detachment and laid down his life in a battle against enemies at the end of June 1945. His remains were reburied here in 1959, and the tombstone is inscribed "Joint Tomb of Martyr Chen Handong".
Walk more than one hundred metres along the woodland path on the right from the park entrance, and you will see the towering monument.
The front and back sides of the monument are inscribed in Chinese and Vietnamese respectively: "Eternal glory to the heroic people". The front and back of the base are also carved with the names of Chinese martyrs who died in the War of Resistance against French Aggression and the War to Aid Vietnam, in both Chinese and Vietnamese.
In 1958, the People's Committee of Dongxing County and the Government of Ha Tinh Province of Vietnam agreed to erect this monument in memory of Chinese soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the liberation war supporting Vietnam in 1954. The China-Vietnam People's Friendship Park was built precisely to honour this bloody combat friendship.
There is a 26-mu lake in the park with a Mid-lake Pavilion. In summer, sunlight filters through the round fronds of palm trees, mixed with the chirping of cicadas, bringing visitors the authentic charm of southern China.
There is a Dragon Palace with the sculpture of Two Dragons Playing with a Pearl. It houses dozens of statues of ancient virtuous figures from successive dynasties, each with a brief biography. For students and tourists, it is just like a vivid history textbook.
