Transportation Guide
Local Transportation
Buses
Only three bus routes (No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3) serve all parts of urban Fangchenggang. The fare is 1 yuan for both air-conditioned and ordinary buses. The fare between Gangkou District and Fangcheng District is 2.5 yuan. Minibuses bound for Shangsi and Dongxing are available at downtown areas including the railway station, long-distance bus station and Xinggang Avenue, with fares of approximately 6 yuan per person.
Taxis
Most taxis in Fangchenggang are Geely vehicles. The flag-down fare is 3 yuan, and the rate is 1.6 yuan per kilometre after the first two kilometres.
Motorcycle Taxis
Motorcycle taxis are widely available and can be hailed on the street. Fares within the urban area generally range from 2 to 5 yuan. However, they are relatively unsafe. Taxis are recommended for safety, comfort and reasonable prices.
Car Charter
Self-drive car rental without a driver is generally unavailable locally. Tourists can charter a taxi. A full-day charter of a Geely taxi for visiting the downtown area, Wanwei Golden Beach, Jiangshan Peninsula and other scenic spots costs around 300 yuan, excluding bridge tolls and other extra expenses. You can negotiate a better price for multi-day rentals.

Scenic Spot Description
The Camellia Nitidissima Reserve is located in Shangyue Village, Nasuo Town, Fangcheng District, Fangchenggang City. Established in 1996, it covers an area of 9,195.1 hectares. The humid and rainy climate creates ideal growing conditions for camellia nitidissima.
At present, the reserve has built the world’s most complete gene bank of camellia nitidissima with the largest stock, introducing nearly 10,000 plants covering 25 species and one variant.
Camellia nitidissima is a rare and precious plant of the Theaceae family worldwide, known as a green national treasure. It boasts medicinal effects such as tumour inhibition, anti-cancer and anti-ageing properties, earning it the reputation of "World Treasure and Queen of the Camellia Family".
The flower features golden petals and jade-like stamens with a glossy waxy surface. The blooming period lasts from December to March of the following year. Golden flowers blossom all over the mountains, attracting numerous tourists, scientific researchers and photography enthusiasts
