Transportation Guide Local Transportation Buses Only three bus routes (No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3) serve all areas of urban Fangchenggang. The fare is 1 yuan for both air-conditioned and ordinary buses. The ticket fare between Gangkou District and Fangcheng District is 2.5 yuan. Minibuses heading for Shangsi and Dongxing are available at downtown areas including the railway station, long-distance bus station and Xinggang Avenue, with fares of approximately 6 yuan per passenger.

Taxis Most taxis in Fangchenggang are Geely vehicles. The flag-down fare is 3 yuan, and the charge is 1.6 yuan per kilometre after the first two kilometres.

Motorcycle Taxis Motorcycle taxis are abundant and can be hailed on the roadside. Trips within the urban area usually cost 2 to 5 yuan. However, they are relatively unsafe. Taxis are recommended for safety, comfort and reasonable prices.

Car Charter Self-drive car rental without a driver is generally unavailable in Fangchenggang. Tourists can charter a taxi. A full-day charter of a Geely taxi to visit the downtown area, Wanwei Golden Beach, Jiangshan Peninsula and other scenic spots costs about 300 yuan, excluding bridge tolls and other extra expenses. Scenic Spot Description The Jing Ethnic Ha Pavilion is situated inside Jing Island Scenic Area, 15 kilometres from Dongxing City. The Ha Pavilion serves as a public venue for the Jing people to offer sacrifices to ancestors and gods, as well as for folk recreational activities. Nestled among ancient leafy trees in the village stands a spacious rose-coloured pavilion. It features round red pillars, upturned eaves and an elevated terrace with exquisitely carved beams and painted rafters, showing magnificent charm. A semi-open-air performance area below the pavilion can hold thousands of spectators. The whole building looks spectacular with its upper and lower spaces connected together. This pavilion was built with funds raised by local island residents.

During the Ha Festival, every household cleans up their courtyards, and all villagers dress up in gorgeous costumes to celebrate nonstop for five days and five nights. Besides watching singing and dancing performances, young men and women stroll along beaches and tree-shaded paths, taking part in traditional activities such as antiphonal singing, expressing love by tossing leaves, and exchanging clogs to make marriage engagements.
