In 1992, the CPC Shan County Committee and the People’s Government of Shan County mobilized cadres and residents across the county to donate more than 3 million RMB for the expansion and renovation of the cemetery.
After reconstruction and expansion, the cemetery boasts over 20 buildings including west and south main gates, a Martyrs Memorial Tower, Memorial Hall, Memorial Pavilions, Martyrs Name Stele, individual tombs of renowned martyrs, mass martyr graves, arch bridges, elegant pavilions and corridors, and the Martyrs Gate.
The cemetery holds the remains of 2,641 revolutionary martyrs who sacrificed their lives heroically during the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, the Liberation War, as well as the period of socialist revolution and construction.
