Scenic Introduction
Fanggan Ecological Tourist Area is located in Luye Township in the northern part of Laicheng District, Laiwu City. It borders Jinan to the north, Zibo to the east and Tai’an to the west. National Highway 09 runs through the area, bringing highly convenient transportation.
Nearly 1,000 meters above sea level, the tourist area belongs to the Mount Tai mountain range. It features lofty mountains and graceful streams, filled with birdsong and blooming flowers, presenting beautiful scenery all year round. International environmental experts have hailed it as a "Green Paradise". It boasts excellent ecological protection, with forest vegetation covering 90% of its land. At present, it is applying to be listed among the UN’s "Global Top 500 Ecological and Environmental Protection Zones".
The tourist area focuses on developing eight core scenic spots: Nine Dragons Grand Canyon, Golden Mount Tai, Black Dragon Pond, Sea View Peak, Immortal Cave, Skyscraping Ridge, Water-dropping Cliff and Five Elders Peak. There are more than 40 scenic sites in total, integrating mountains, rivers, forests, springs, pools, waterfalls, canyons and caves. It also gathers folk legends of historical figures including Huang Chao, Li Ben, Zhang Daoyi, Chen Ganyu and the Tailed Dragon Laoli.
