Scenic Spot Introduction
Dacheng Hall of the Confucian Temple is located inside the Municipal Mass Art Museum on the north side of Xiaoshi Street, Yunhe District, Cangzhou. As the main hall of the ancient Confucian Temple, it is 18 meters wide from east to west and 9 meters long from north to south. There are five main gateways on the front facade. The hall is supported by 24 pillars, with eaves extending 2 meters outward, and the roof is covered with green glazed tiles. The whole building looks grand and magnificent.
The hall was initially built between the Song and Liao dynasties (around 1120 to 1150). Its layout was fully completed in the early Ming Dynasty, and it underwent a total of 17 renovations throughout the Ming and Qing dynasties. In 1981, Hebei Province allocated funds for its restoration. Having taken on a brand-new look, it is now listed as a Key Cultural Relic Protection Unit at the municipal level
