Handan → Wu’an → Jingniang Lake → Qibugou Valley

Take Bus No.808 from Handan to Wu’an Bus Station, then transfer to the bus bound for Changshou Village. Get off at Qibugou Valley stop.

Qibugou Valley Scenic Area is located in Huoshui Township, Wu’an City, Hebei Province, deep inside Wu’an National Geopark and National Forest Park. It gets its name from the Buddhist story of "Seven-Step Lotus".

Covering about 15 square kilometres, the resort consists of six scenic zones: Main Gate Sight, Leisure Resort, Hundred Waterfalls Gorge, Arhat Gorge, Mawu Stockade and Sanleng Mountain. It integrates ecological sightseeing, religious and historical culture, red tourism and holiday recreation.

The area features rolling layered ridges, jagged peaks, cascading waterfalls, flowing springs and singing birds amid blooming flowers. Natural attractions including Heavenly Mirror Lake, South Heavenly Gate, Stone Forest Peaks and Red Stone Village are extremely charming. Legends are widely told here: eminent monks meditated in Arhat Cave, Taoist hermits lived in seclusion at the Hermit Tower, and troops cultivated farmland and trained soldiers at Mawu Stockade.

Development of Qibugou Valley started in 2003. A comprehensive reconstruction project was launched in May 2009 with a total investment of 1.2 billion RMB. Facilities include the first ski resort in southern Hebei, high-altitude cableway, live-action CS shooting and outward bound training. It has been listed as a key tourism project of Hebei Province.

As the saying goes: "Secluded ancient Buddhist land, fairyland Qibugou Valley." It is an ideal destination for sightseeing, vacation, Buddhist pilgrimage, historical exploration, outdoor activities and revolutionary education.
