Yarrow Garden

Yarrow Garden lies inside the Fuxi Shrine, 15 kilometres east of Shangcai County seat.

In ancient times, yarrow was regarded as a sacred herb capable of exploring hidden truths, uncovering profound mysteries, predicting fortune and misfortune for the whole nation, and ensuring sincere governance across the land.

According to Record of the Yarrow Platform written by Yang Xun in the Ming Dynasty, included in the Revised Records of Runing Prefecture: "The yarrow plants twist upward like soaring dragons and spread like phoenixes taking flight, thriving all around the platform. When Fuxi created divination, he picked these stalks to cast lots and deduce the changes of the Eight Trigrams. Hence the name Yarrow Platform."
