Two-Day Tour of Yunxiao Scenery
Day 1
Groups will be met in Yunxiao at noon for lunch, followed by a trip to Wushan Scenic Area. The scenic spot is famed for steep cliffs, grotesque rock formations, abundant caves and deep mountain streams. Visitors may appreciate scenic highlights such as Dragon Bed Rock (also called Steamer Rock), sky-reaching stalagmites, Brush Rack Mountain, Immortal Stove, One-Line Sky, Divine Ox Looking Back, Immortal Stone Bridge, the huge Eighteen Officials Cave and Turtle Gazing at the Sea.
Wushan also serves as a significant revolutionary base, home to the former site of the Minnan Prefectural Party Committee, Lu Dao’s Tomb, an underground printing house and other red tourist sites. It is an excellent venue for ideological education for young people.
After touring Wushan, proceed to Yunding Hot Spring Hotel for overnight accommodation. The hotel’s hot spring complex sits at the rear of the building, covering over 6,000 square meters and capable of holding 1,000 guests simultaneously. This large public hydrotherapy zone integrates a full range of water entertainment facilities: water slides, indoor and outdoor hot spring areas, private hot spring suites, swimming pools and shared spa zones. Specific amenities include standard swimming pools, Vichy showers, bubble sitting baths, rain showers, SPA hydrotherapy pools, overhead massage nozzles, ice pools, hot spring pools, five-flavor medicinal pools and a kids’ water play zone. With comprehensive functions and streamlined layout, it resembles a large-scale water park.
Separate male and female lounges are arranged on one side of the public spa area, featuring deluxe cozy changing rooms, neat shower stalls, outdoor dry and wet steam saunas, and massage pools with diverse therapeutic effects. Hot spring vacation villas stand beside the swimming pool.
Soaking in Yunding Hot Spring together with various spa therapies delivers remarkable curative effects on ailments of bones and joints, the cardiopulmonary vascular system and digestive tract. It also soothes nerves and relieves physical fatigue.
(Overnight accommodation: Downtown Yunxiao)
Day 2
After breakfast, visit General Mountain Park. The mountain derives its name from General Guide Chen Zheng, who led troops to garrison Fujian in the second year of the Zongzhang reign of the Tang Dynasty and was buried here after passing away. Tour the East Main Gate, Dragon Lake, Guide Tower, Cultural Square, General Chen Zheng Cemetery and stone sculpture art installations.
In the afternoon, head to the coastline to visit Fujian Zhangjiang Estuary Mangrove National Nature Reserve (visitation subject to tidal conditions). Located at the estuary of the Zhangjiang River, 10 kilometers from Yunxiao County seat, this national wetland reserve faces Tamsui River Estuary Mangrove Reserve of Taiwan across the strait. Spanning a total area of 2,360 hectares, it hosts the largest, most species-rich and best-preserved natural mangrove communities north of the Tropic of Cancer. As a critical stopover and breeding habitat for migratory birds worldwide, it boasts great development potential for scientific research, education and tourism.
Transfer the group back after the tour concludes.
