Sino-Russian Border & Frontier Port Scenery 2-Day Tour (Eastern Mudanjiang 2-Day Route)

Depart from Mudanjiang and head to Suifenhe, enjoying the wilderness and forest landscapes of Northeast China along the whole journey. Visit Suifenhe Railway Station, a century-old port station built in 1903, featuring a Russian-style waiting hall and a modern international joint inspection hall. Tour the local museum that showcases Suifenhe’s long-standing history and abundant natural resources. Its exhibition halls are divided into four themes: history, nature, art and development achievements. Stop by the municipal government compound to overlook the full panorama of Suifenhe’s old town and Beishan Development Zone, and take souvenir photos. Proceed to the national gate tourist zone of the Class I highway port. Here you can admire the magnificent national gate, passenger and cargo joint inspection halls, boundary stones and the border firebreak line. On the Russian side, wooden log cabins and prefabricated temporary buildings can be seen. Multiple souvenir shops are scattered across the scenic zone. Lunch: Buffet at Huayi Snack Restaurant. Visit the designated tourist souvenir shop on Qizhen Street, the only official shopping spot of its kind in Suifenhe. You can select handcrafted artworks and souvenirs imported from Russia, India, Pakistan, Turkey, Taiwan and other regions and countries. Then go to Qingyun Market, a comprehensive Sino-Russian trade market. Witness the bustling small-scale cross-border trade atmosphere. As the largest folk trade market in Heilongjiang Province, Qingyun Market tops the shopping list for Russian tourists and ranks among key sightseeing spots for domestic visitors. Drive to Hill 605, the No.1 Border Guard Post of Suifenhe, where you can overlook Grodekovo, a frontier town on the Russian side in the distance. Visit the Chachagov Tea House, a representative European-style building locally nicknamed the "Human Head Building", then appreciate the Orthodox Church, a Russian religious building with a history of over 80 years. Dinner: Authentic Russian-style cuisine. Overnight accommodation in Suifenhe, or transfer to Dongning for the night.

Depart from Suifenhe or Dongning. Arrive at Xishan Orchard, the major fruit-producing base of Dongning. Pick and taste various fruits here, including apple pears, 123 apples, K9 apples and more varieties. Visit Dongting Provincial Geopark Scenic Area. Feast your eyes on picturesque lake views, and take part in activities such as mountain climbing, water recreation, angling and rock climbing. Lunch: Homemade farmhouse dishes. Tour the Dachengzi Bohai Kingdom Ruins, where you can view two well-preserved sections of the ancient city’s west and south city walls with a history of over 1,000 years. Head to the Dongning Sino-Russian Mutual Trade Zone on the Sino-Russian border for sightseeing and shopping. Visit Dongning Port, China’s easternmost Class I land border port. Lastly, explore the Dongning Fortress Complex, the site where World War II officially ended. Tour the weapon park, exhibition museum and underground facilities inside the Xunshan Fortress. Take the coach back to Mudanjiang.
