Six-Day Tour: Jingpo Lake Waterfalls, Changbai Mountain Tianchi, Tumen River Port & DPRK Landscapes and Folk Customs

Group pick-up in Mudanjiang. Visit Mudanjiang Riverside Park and pay homage to the monumental sculpture of the Eight Heroines Who Drowned Themselves in the River. Take a coach to Jingpo Lake, China’s largest mountain barrier lake. En route, pass Langgang, the country’s top hometown of watermelons. Handpick and taste local fresh watermelons for a delightful treat. Optional visit to the Site of Longquanfu, Upper Capital of the Bohai Kingdom and Xinglong Temple. (Overnight stay at Jingpo Lake)

Take a lake cruise to admire famous lake attractions: Lake Center Island, Flying Rainbow Bridge, Mao Gong Mountain, State Leaders’ Villa, Moon-Embracing Bay and White Stone Cliffs. View the Diaoshuilou Waterfall, China’s largest basalt volcanic waterfall, Jingpo Mountain Villa, Deng Xiaoping’s stone inscription and Liu Shaoqi’s Wooden Lodge. Coach transfer to Dunhua and tour Zhengjue Temple, the world’s largest Buddhist nunnery. After lunch, head for Changbai Mountain, known as the No.1 Mountain of Guandong. Along the way, appreciate graceful Korean pine trees and slender silver birch forests. (Overnight stay at Changbai Mountain)

Sightsee primeval forests, vertical vegetation zones and mountain birch belts. Take a special peak shuttle (at your own expense) up to the main peak of Changbai Mountain to visit Tianchi Lake, Asia’s highest volcanic crater lake. Witness Changbai Waterfall, the waterfall with the largest drop in Northeast China, and Julong Hot Spring Group. Optional hot spring bathing and tasting hot-spring boiled eggs at your own cost. Coach transfer to Yanji, passing bear farms and deer farms en route. (Overnight stay in Yanji)

Coach to Hunchun, then proceed to Quanhe Port on the Tumen River. Complete customs clearance and cross to Rason, DPRK. Visit revolutionary historic sites, watch children’s art performances and explore Rason Free Port. Tour Emperor Entertainment Hotel, a full-service resort wholly invested by Hong Kong enterprises. (Overnight stay in the DPRK)

Visit the coastal bathing beach, local free market and Pipao Island Scenic Area. Coach back to China and return to Yanji. (Overnight stay in Yanji)

After breakfast, enjoy city sightseeing in Yanji and free leisure time, with shopping available at Korea Town. Transfer guests to railway station or airport to conclude the pleasant journey!
