Samaranch Memorial is founded by Wu Jingguo, who is the president of International Boxing Association, executive member of International Olympic Committee (IOC), as the only memorial got the accreditation from Samaranch family, and the authorization from the International Olympic Committee, to commemorate Samaranch, and promote Olympic Spirit. The memorial covers a total area of 216 acres, and the structure area is about 19,000 square meters. It is finished and opened to the public in 2013. There are 16578 pieces of individual collections and private items of Samaranch. Samaranch Memorial comprises main building and Olympic sculpture park around it. It is a world-class dynamic comprehensive memorial, which integrates international sports relics exhibition, culture and art exchange, large scale conference and exhibition forum and tourist entertainment.
