Roasted bean curd is a local snack in South Yunnan, but very popular in Kunming and can be enjoyed at many local restaurants/eateries of Kunming. The best bean curds roasted are from Shiping County and Jianshui County. Made from high quality soybeans, the bean curds smell disgusting but taste appetizing. Roasted on steel net on charcoal fire, and seasoned with spiced brine, hot pepper powder and Chinese prickly ash oil, the roasted bean curds taste fragrant, crisp, fresh and delicious.
