Shanhai Pass City: In the north of the City, there are lofty and dangerous mountains; in the south, the terrain is strategically important; therefore it has won the praise of “the most important military place of Chang’an and Luoyang, and the first pass of the Great Wall”. In the City, there are five famous towers which are called “five tigers guarding the east”, namely, Linlu Tower, Weiyuan Tower, Muying Tower, Jingbian Tower, and the First Pass Tower. Among them, the First Pass Tower gained a world reputation.

Shanhai Pass Great Wall Museum: The Shanhai Pass Great Wall Museum, located in the Shanhai Pass City and at the toe of the First Pass, is a delicate pseudo-classic building group which is named by the former president Comrade Li Xiannian. The Museum is set up with a lobby, the history hall of the Great Wall, the military hall of the Great Wall, the culture wall of the Great Wall, and the Shanhai Pass Great Wall Hall, 6 in total. The Shanhai Pass Great Wall Museum was firstly opened to the public in July 1991, and is one of the three important great wall museums in China.

The Old Dragon’s Head: It is the eastern starting point of the Great Wall of the Ming Dynasty, and the only sea and land military defense system integrated with mountains, sea, passes, and cities for the Great Wall. In the scenic, there is the “Ruhaishicheng” built by Qi Jiguang who was the commander-in-chief of Ji town in Ming Dynasty. Ruhaishicheng stretched into the sea like a dragon’s head to make waves dance, and therefore it is called “Old Dragon’s Head”.

Meng Jiangnv Temple: Meng Jiangnv Temple is also called Zhennv Temple; according to legends, it was built before the Song dynasty. The story of Meng Jiangnv is one of the four Chinese folk legends; later generations respect and admire Meng Jiangnv’s loyalty and chastity, and sigh with emotion for her martyr; therefore, this Temple is built. On the temple, the couplet “Haishuichao zhaozhaochao zhaochaozhaoluo, fuyunzhang changchangzhang changzhangchangxiao” rated as “the most marvelous couplet in the world” is hanging. Meng Jiangnv Temple is representative of civil and folk culture derived from the Great Wall.

Dongjiakou Scenic Spot: Dongjiakou Great Wall is one of the important passes of Ji Town Great Wall which was built in Ming Dynasty, and it is also an important northern fortress which guards the Shanhai Pass Great Wall. On towering and steep mountain ridges, 31 enemy broadcasting stations, 28 fighting stations, and 14 beacon towers are established, with total length of 8.9 km and the highest elevation of 556 meters; besides, 3 castles are built.

Banchangyu Scenic Spot: Banchangyu Scenic not only has excellent historical sites but also has splendid natural scenery. The lofty Great Wall was established along mountains as hanging upside down from the sky; brickkiln group ruins of the Great Wall of the Ming Dynasty shock the whole world; “thousand-year old pines and Banchangyu tower” glut people’s eyes; “the unearthing place of spotted hyena fossil—Lingxian Cave” which is called the best of Asia becomes famous overnight; as the red base of Linyu, “Linyu county party committee site” adds some political connotations to the Scenic. In the Scenic, there are cover-like shades of trees, birds’ twitter and fragrance of flowers as well as waterfalls and springs which can be seen everywhere. Seasons there are distinctive (spring flowers, summer water, autumn maples, and winter snow), thus the miracle and beauty of Banchangyu are fully displayed
