Yishui Garden is a National 3A-level Tourist Attraction located at Lingyuan Road, Yiwu Town, Yiwu County, Hami City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, around 170 kilometers away from Hami urban area伊吾县人民.... Originally built as Yiwu Martyrs Cemetery in 1980, it was expanded and renamed Yishui Garden in 2006, covering a total area of 1,600 mu alongside the Yiwu River. It is a landmark red tourism complex integrating revolutionary memorial education, waterscape sightseeing, outdoor recreation and urban ecological leisure, and is free of charge for visitors all year round.
Historical & Honorary Qualifications
Centered on the legendary 40-Day Defense Battle of Yiwu in 1950, the scenic spot was built on the former battlefield site of Nanshan Fort. In the battle, Chinese PLA soldiers held the county stronghold alone for forty days and nights and repelled seven large-scale sieges by bandits, writing an epic chapter of loyalty and perseverance on the borderland.

Four Core Functional Zones
1. Martyrs Memorial Zone (Core Red Area)
The soul of the whole garden, composed of the Memorial Hall for the 40-Day Defense Battle, Martyrs Monument, martyrs’ tombs, Hero Tower, restored Nanshan Bunker, Meritorious Horse Tomb and mountain hiking trails. Exhibits including historical documents, old photos and battlefield relics systematically reproduce the cruel combat history. The Meritorious Horse is remembered for transporting drinking water to frontline soldiers under enemy fire, becoming a touching symbolic figure of the battle spirit. The Yiwu County Economic & Social Achievement Exhibition Hall is also situated here, displaying local development achievements over decades.
2. Waterscape Entertainment Zone
Relying on natural river water systems, it supplies recreational facilities such as speedboats, water walking balls, water tricycles and pedal boats. Featured highlights include a high musical fountain and water curtain movies opened on holidays, paired with waterside pavilions, plank roads and viewing bridges to form tranquil waterfront scenery携程.
3. Leisure Angling Zone
Occupying 206 mu of water surface, this area is equipped with standard fishing platforms and supporting service facilities, capable of hosting large-scale official fishing contests for fishing lovers.
4. Ecological Landscape Zone
With native arbors, shrubs and flower belts distributed along the riverbank, it optimizes the urban ecological environment, providing quiet resting spaces for local residents and tourists.
