Special Wild River Fish

Kaiyang County is crisscrossed by abundant rivers, which form an ideal natural habitat for wild fish. Local people have made good use of this natural resource. Wild fish restaurants fully bring out the tender, smooth and fresh texture of wild river fish. Cooked in local red sour soup or rich bone broth, the chewy wild fish meat is mouth-watering and leaves a lasting aftertaste.

The densest cluster of wild fish restaurants is found along the Lewang River in Huali Township. Many restaurants in Guiyang even feature Lewang River fish as their signature dish to attract diners. The fish are freshly caught from the Lewang River flowing right past the restaurants. Listening to the gurgling river water and the bubbling boiling broth while tasting pure natural wild fish is truly one of life’s greatest pleasures.

Several well-known wild fish restaurants can also be found in downtown Kaiyang. One is Xianxiangle Fish Restaurant on Dongxing Avenue, and the other is Zijiang Fishing Village right beside the toll station of the Guiyang-Kaiyang Expressway.
