The Splendid Maple Hues of Shajin

Who rivals the charm of lingering longing? Sunset glow and red maple leaves burn with passion.
In the golden month of October, you need not travel far to enjoy maple scenery — the maple forest in Shajin is an ideal destination.
With mountain vistas dyed in autumn colours and quiet picturesque villages tucked in deep valleys, Wulama Mountain now welcomes streams of leaf-peeping visitors.
The thousand-acre maple grove, blanketed in fiery red foliage layer upon layer, has become a paradise for photographers and a beloved scenic resort for tourists.
Red maples lean against rosy sunset clouds, blending together in perfect harmony. The gorgeous colourful maple scenery spreads all across Shajin, refreshing every visitor and making them reluctant to leave.
Strolling through the leaf-strewn woods, maple trees stand densely without rigid rows.
Looking up into the canopy, bright crimson, rich orange and noble golden leaves interweave to form stunning paintings of autumn.
From a vantage point, clusters of red maples blaze like roaring flames.
When sunlight breaks through occasionally, the red foliage sways gently, creating a mesmerizing view.
Looking down at the ground, fallen leaves spread in a kaleidoscope of red, yellow, green, purple and brown hues.
Tourists from near and far all delight in this intimate communion with nature.
The maple views on Wulama Mountain in Shajintai Township may not rival the grandeur of Canada’s famous Maple Avenue, yet they offer easy access, peace and relaxation.
The fiery red leaves on every tree are deep and vivid.
Some tall maples turn red first at the crown, with the colour gradually spreading downward: the middle canopy glows bright orange, while the lower leaves remain elegant emerald green.
Against the azure sky, the colourful foliage resembles clouds hanging along the horizon.
A soft breeze stirs the branches. Leaves break free from the twigs, dancing like colourful butterflies and drifting down to carpet the ground with a soft colourful blanket.
Small groups of visitors wander on the carpet of leaves, forming a natural living scene that stirs boundless imagination.
The vibrant maple scenery marks only the beginning of Shajintai Township’s tourism development.
Leveraging its natural resources and profound historical heritage, the township is pressing ahead with plans to build a high-quality one-stop eco-tourism zone known as Maple Valley.
Integrating forest picking, local catering, leisure activities, specialty shopping and Manchu-Mongolian cultural inheritance, the scenic area will cover all six tourism elements: dining, accommodation, transportation, sightseeing, shopping and entertainment
