Fuhu She Cultural Village in Huokou She Ethnic Township is mainly populated by villagers bearing the surnames Lan and Lei, who account for 94 percent of the village’s total population. Both the She language and Chinese are spoken by local residents.

The village was named one of Fuzhou’s first Towns of Folk Art (She Folk Culture) in 2006. It was rated a Three-Star Rural Tourism Operation Unit in 2013, honored as a Characteristic Tourism Village in 2014, and selected into the first batch of national-level rural brands in 2015. This latest recognition will significantly boost the brand awareness of rural tourism in Fuhu Village.

In recent years, Fuhu Village has prioritized the development of rural tourism by scaling up relevant investment, actively introducing foreign capital, and adopting a multi-pronged approach to drive growth. The Fuhu She Folk Custom Museum opened to the public on May 19, 2015. Covering a total land area of over 1,800 square metres with a construction area of 780 square metres, the museum houses more than 600 cultural relics and exhibits, drawing numerous tourists from surrounding areas to experience the traditional culture of the She people. Through continuous tourism promotion, folk custom exhibitions and other events, the village is vigorously building a distinctive brand centred on She ethnic culture.
