The Ancient Tea Road of Wufeng is located in Wufeng Tujia Autonomous County, Hubei Province. Taking shape during the Ming and Qing dynasties, it ranks among the major newly discovered cultural relics in Hubei recorded in the Third National Cultural Relics Survey.

Stretching across the whole county, the Ancient Tea Road runs more than 130 kilometres from east to west. The well-preserved sections include: 7.5 kilometres from Hanyang Bridge to Aokou, 30 kilometres from Dongkou to the county seat, 29 kilometres from Songjiahe to Mojiaxi, 22.5 kilometres from Caihuatai to Huangjiawan, and 17.5 kilometres from Fengyatou to Baishun Bridge.

Along the route remain 13 ancient bridges, 7 cliff carvings, 26 stone steles, as well as relics of inns, tea shops, wharves and mountain passes.

Starting from the 19th century, crude tea produced in Hefeng, Xuan'en, Enshi and Changyang of Hubei Province, and Shimen of Hunan Province was continuously transported along this ancient road to Yuyangguan for collection, refinement and packaging. Afterwards, the finished tea was shipped by water to Hankou. Therefore, the Ancient Tea Road of Wufeng became a vital section linking the tea-growing areas of western Hubei and Hunan to the Ten-Thousand-Li Tea Road spanning China, Russia and Mongolia.

In July 2011, the Ancient Tea Road of Wufeng was designated a municipal key cultural relic protection unit by the People's Government of Yichang City.
