Everything you need to know before visiting Laiyuan
1. About Laiyuan Karst Caves
Youqin Cave is situated in Laiyuan Township, Liancheng County.
Laiyuan Cave Group is hailed as the No.1 karst cave cluster in East China and an important part of Guanzhai Mountain National Geopark. CCTV has conducted multiple on-site investigations into its fantastic cave scenery.
The caves are filled with jagged rocks and rugged terrain. Caves branch endlessly inside one another, twisting and turning like a complex maze. The three most famous caves are Youqin Cave, Xianyun Cave and Shiyan Cave.
Nearly a hundred scenic spots have been developed, including Jade Pond Zither Platform, Beauty Gazing at Her Reflection, Dinosaur Age, Lucky Turn Stone, Heavenly Pillar, Silent Corridor, Divine Tortoise Peering into the Well, and Peacock Spreading Its Tail. Different background music is arranged to match each scene.
2. Transportation Guide
By Air
Longyan Guanzhai Mountain Airport operates direct flights to and from Shanghai, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Guilin and Chengdu.
The airport is only 3 km from downtown Liancheng.
Take a local bus at the long-distance bus station to Laiyuan Township.
By Train
Guanzhai Mountain Railway Station (for both regular trains and EMUs) is located in Pengkou Town, a 20-minute drive from the county seat.
Transfer to the Laiyuan shuttle bus at the bus station.
By Coach
Direct coaches run from Fuzhou, Xiamen and Longyan to Liancheng.
Buses depart every 30 minutes from Longyan to Liancheng (06:00 – 18:00), with a 2-hour ride.
After arriving in Liancheng, take the shuttle bus to Laiyuan.
Self-driving (Recommended)
From downtown Liancheng, drive 46 kilometers toward Laiyuan Township to reach the scenic spot.
Self-driving is the most convenient option.
