Nanweng River Wetland — A Landmark of the Greater Khingan Range
Nanweng River National Nature Reserve is Northeast China’s largest forest wetland reserve and the country’s sole temperate island forest wetland. Nestled on the western slope of the Zhangguangcai Ridge, Yabuli is encircled by green mountains blanketed in dense forests. Standing at an altitude of 1,528 meters, Dabai Mountain is the highest peak in the northern Greater Khingan Range. Thanks to its high elevation, it features distinct vertical vegetation zones that shift gradually from the mountain foot to the summit. It is common to see snow-capped peaks contrasting with lush green trees below, while flat areas are covered with rock piles, stone seas and stone rivers.
Xingkai Lake — Famous Border Lake Resort Town
Xingkai Lake sits 40 kilometers southeast of Mishan City on the China-Russia border, with one-third of its water area within Chinese territory and the rest belonging to Russia. Formed by terrain subsidence after ancient volcanic eruptions, it is Northeast China’s largest freshwater lake. Once known as the "Northern Lute Sea", it stretches endlessly where water meets sky, grander than the ocean itself. As one of the world’s three major wetlands, Xingkai Lake Wetland is the nation’s largest migratory bird stopover, dubbed a paradise for migratory birds.
Tangwang River — Famous Town Known as the Hometown of Korean Pine
Tangwang River Stone Forest Scenic Area, the core attraction of Tangwang River National Park — China’s first officially designated national park. Situated on a highland of the Lesser Khingan Range beside the Tangwang River, it is famed for thousands of exotic rock formations. Visitors can stroll through Asia’s largest Korean Pine Mother Forest National Park, breathe pure air with a negative oxygen ion concentration of 20,000 per cubic meter in the natural oxygen bar, and ride century-old forest narrow-gauge trains winding through boundless primeval woodlands.
Arctic Village — Famous Town with Arctic Customs
Mohe rests at the northern foot of the Greater Khingan Range on the south bank of the upper Heilongjiang River. As China’s northernmost territory, it is widely called China’s North Pole, and Arctic Village is the northernmost settlement within this small county. Its two unique natural wonders are white nights and auroras borealis, while its dual signatures of "northernmost location" and "extreme cold" have become iconic tourism calling cards. Here, travelers can witness the phenomena of midnight sun and polar night, and catch a glimpse of the mysterious aurora borealis.

The Nine Twists and Eighteen Turns scenic spot lies at the 485-kilometer marker on County Highway Jia 4. A naturally formed primitive wetland covering over 2,000 hectares, it offers sweeping views from the observation deck: dense dark green pine trees layer the mountains, undulating ridges resemble surging clouds, and the roar of pine winds echoes like ten thousand galloping horses.
