Located on the western coastal tourist belt of Yingkou Development Zone (Bayuquan), Mountain-Sea Square covers around 300,000 square meters. It consists of Mountain-Sea Square, New Crescent Bay Bathing Beach, Sea View Causeway (pedestrian trestle), observation deck and the Sculpture of Bayu Princess.
Construction of the scenic area kicked off in early 2008 and was basically completed at the end of 2009, with a total investment of about 350 million yuan. As a top-tier golden coastal tourist belt integrating sightseeing, vacation, leisure, entertainment and fitness, Mountain-Sea Square itself spans roughly 100,000 square meters, including 58,000 square meters of plaza land. Construction started in April 2008 and the plaza opened to the public in May 2009.
Serving as the main square of the new southern urban area of the development zone and supporting the coastal bathing beach, its core landscapes include the bronze flute sculpture at the entrance, eight white marble relief walls depicting local customs and historical sites of Yingkou, sea pearl stone, Chinese zodiac sculptures on the sea, and a sunken performance square.
