Guandong Folk Custom Village
Located in Luquan Village, Donglai Township, the village covers 40 mu with a floor area of 1,500 square meters. It houses more than 1,500 folk cultural relics and 30 rooms, including eight courtyard complexes such as Korean-style houses and Manchu-style gardens.
Walking into the village, visitors can experience authentic ancient Manchu folk customs. Traditional facilities here include stone mills, stone rollers, ancient wells, windlasses, large heated brick beds inside houses and chimneys built outside the gable walls.
The village features various traditional residential buildings in Northeast China: semi-underground dwellings, simple wooden frame houses, straw-and-clay cottages for ordinary families, blue brick tile houses for wealthy families, log cabins representing Changbai Mountain culture, and houses of different styles inhabited by the Korean people in the region. It is a living village showcasing Manchu and Korean traditions, as well as an exhibition hall of Manchu folk culture and artifacts, favored by painters and photography enthusiasts.
Local farmhouse cuisines and green food are highly recommended, especially the Eight Traditional Manchu Dishes and distinctive Korean meals. In 2014, a Manchu Museum was built with an investment of 500,000 RMB. Adopting a traditional courtyard layout, it displays well-preserved old utensils for production and daily life, presenting Manchu folk customs in a vivid way. Further construction is underway, and the museum will charge admission fees after completion with standardized management.
