Two-Day Cultural Tour of Mianyang

Itinerary: Day 1: Qiqushan Grand Temple → Li Bai’s Hometown in Jiangyou Day 2: Ape King Cave Scenic Area of Western Qiang Jiuhuang Mountain

Day 1: Tour Qiqushan Grand Temple in Zitong in the morning and taste local specialties Zitong Sheet Jelly and Crispy Cakes. After lunch, take a minibus from Zitong Central Bus Station to Jiangyou. The trip takes about 2 hours with a fare of 14 yuan. Visit Li Bai’s Hometown upon arrival.

In the evening, take a shuttle bus operated by Ape King Cave Reception Station to the scenic area (a 30-minute ride), or catch the Pingwu-bound bus at Bus Station 79 and get off at Ape King Cave. Stay overnight at the scenic area.

Day 2: Explore Ape King Cave Scenic Area all day. Admire the Yellow Dragon-style rock formations inside the cave, enjoy fun at China’s first hunting ground, and watch aerial acrobatics as well as Qiang dances, folk songs and flute performances. Experience thrilling yet safe activities including zip lines, slides and the Lovers’ Bridge.
