Located 14 kilometers northwest of Jiangyou City (the hometown of Li Bai), it is the largest mysterious karst cave in northwestern Sichuan. It connects to Kuang Mountain (also known as Dai Tian Mountain) above, adjoins Li Bai’s Reading Platform below, faces Guanwu and Tuanling Mountains to the east, and leans against Yinghua and Qianyuan Mountains to the west. It is a gateway to the Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area. Surrounded by mountains and rivers with lush ancient trees, the scenery is breathtaking. In the 23rd year of the Republic of China (1934), a 3-meter-tall stone-carved Buddha statue was found by the Tongtian River, hence the name "Buddha Cave".
