Ziyun Cave took shape around 190 million years ago. When the sea level rose, silt inside the cave was gradually eroded to form the cavern. Afterwards, calcium carbonate accumulated slowly, giving rise to various stalactites, stalagmites, stone pillars, stone curtains, rock dams and cave pearls.
Compared with other natural caves, its landscapes developed relatively late. Elegant and pristine, the cave is like a graceful young maiden blessed with natural beauty.
