Spanning 80 square kilometers, Gupo Mountain is a natural kingdom of flora and fauna. There are 25 peaks rising over 1,000 meters above sea level here. Its main peak reaches 1,844 meters, ranking as the highest mountain in eastern Guangxi.

Crisscrossing gullies and gurgling mountain streams run all year round. Thanks to its unique terrain, numerous steep cliffs scatter across the area, creating a distinctive landscape where waterfalls can be seen in every valley, each with extraordinary scenery.

Famous waterfalls include Dynamic Horse Waterfall at Wayaochong, Fairy Maiden Waterfall, Arhat Waterfall, Galaxy Waterfall, Two Millimeters Waterfall, Mother-and-Son Waterfall and Mandarin Duck Waterfall.

The forest coverage rate here hits 99.5%. The woods are home to various exotic trees, including towering timber trees and ancient primeval trees. More than 1,400 species of wild plants and over 130 kinds of birds and animals thrive in the dense forests, making it an ideal destination for tourism, vacation and recuperation.

Magnificent peaks, steep ridges, ancient trees, old vines, rare flowers, peculiar grasses, grotesque rocks and waterfalls combine to form breathtaking natural landscapes. Visitors can admire waterfalls, go hunting, have outdoor barbecues, camp out, or stay in bamboo villas built beside streams and pools to fully embrace the gifts of nature.

Gupo Mountain enjoys a pleasant spring-like climate all year round, with an average annual temperature of 18.2℃ and relative humidity above 80%. It is warm in winter and cool in summer. The air here is exceptionally fresh, with the concentration of negative oxygen ions reaching 65,856 per cubic centimeter, earning it the title of the largest natural oxygen bar in South China.

Transportation Tourist buses run directly from Hezhou Bus Station to Gupo Mountain. The journey takes 50 minutes, operating from 07:00 to 15:00 with a fare of 6 yuan per person. It is recommended to take the earliest bus to reserve ample time for hiking and sightseeing. It takes great stamina and time to visit all scenic spots, and visitors need to climb to the mountaintop to view the grand Galaxy Waterfall.

The last bus returning to Hezhou departs at 17:30. You may also hire a taxi for a full-day trip for a minimum of around 80 yuan.
