Lake Manasarovar is located 35 kilometers east of Purang County in Ngari, south of Mount Kangrinboqe. Surrounded by breathtaking natural scenery, it has been regarded by followers of Buddhism and Bon religion as a sacred site known as the Center of the World since ancient times. As one of Xizang’s three holy lakes, it is the freshwater lake with the highest water transparency in China and also the birthplace of four major rivers in Asia.
