Changdu (Qamdo) – Tibet’s Eastern Gateway
Changdu (also spelled Qamdo) is a prefecture-level city in the eastern Tibet Autonomous Region, known as the “Eastern Gate of Tibet” and “Pearl of Eastern Tibet”昌都市人民政府. It’s the 3rd largest city in Tibet (after Lhasa and Shigatse) and the historic heart of Kham culture
