Sikouzi earns its reputation nationwide for its precipitous terrain, serene valleys, exotic rock formations and breathtaking vistas.
When it comes to precipice, anyone who crosses the Yellow Dragon Bridge will feel the thrill. The bridge hangs dozens of meters above the mountain gully. Over one meter wide and 30 meters long, it is paved with wooden planks and connected by iron ladders and railings on two steep slopes. The swaying iron cables make every step unsteady, delivering a heart-stopping experience.
For serenity, after crossing the suspension bridge and climbing over the hill, wander through Sikouzi Gorge, an ancient transportation stronghold. Pause in the gullies and lean on railings at ancient temples. You will feel far away from the hustle of cities, travelling back in time and merging with nature. The dense forest and gurgling mountain springs further soothe the mind.
Sikouzi is home to stunning landscapes including the grand Sikou Grand Canyon and Lingxian Valley, as well as the oddly-shaped Stone Box Grottoes. Though not as large as the Stone Forest in Yunnan, the area features rolling grotesque rocks — some stand towering, others are smooth as mirrors. Each rock boasts a unique shape, a masterpiece crafted by nature.
