Ligang melon contains no fewer nutrients than common watermelons, with notably higher levels of aromatic substances, minerals, sugar and vitamin C. It is effective in relieving summer heat, quenching thirst and promoting urination.
Huinong District is located in northern Ningxia. It stretches about 88.8 kilometers from east to west and 119.5 kilometers from north to south, between 105°58′–106°39′ east longitude and 38°21′–39°25′ north latitude. Bounded by the surging Yellow River and Ordos City of Inner Mongolia to the east, the towering Helan Mountains and Alxa League of Inner Mongolia to the west, Wuhai City of Inner Mongolia across the Yellow River to the north, and Xingqing District and Helan County of Yinchuan to the south, the district enjoys convenient transportation. Product Characteristics & Quality Standards
External features: Oval in shape with pale green and white stripes. The rind is glossy with clear patterns and smooth to the touch. When cut open, it emits a sweet aroma and tastes crisp, sweet and juicy.
Internal quality indicators: Total sugar content reaches 9.6% and total acid content 0.11% after inspection.
Safety standards: Certified by the Agricultural Product Quality and Safety Center of the Ministry of Agriculture in 2006, it complies with pollution-free agricultural product standards and has obtained the corresponding certification.
